They deserve Business Creative Award because they have spent the last seven years building a technology ecosystem from Nairobi, for Africa first. Through Mctaba Labs, they have challenged the conventional Silicon Valley model by building products, services, and learning programmes around African infrastructure such as M-Pesa, Paystack, WhatsApp, and Africa’s Talking. They have developed the Layered Learning Model, trained more than 10,000 students through Udemy, taught learners from leading global universities, lectured at USIU and Strathmore, and built a growing community through sold-out technology events and meetups. Beyond education, they are building practical solutions in AI, automation, software, payments, and entrepreneurship while pursuing an ambitious vision to train one million students by 2030 and help create 15,000 working engineers by 2035. They are not simply participating in Africa’s technology ecosystem—they are actively building the products, talent, and opportunities needed to shape its future.
